Abdominoplasty (Tummy tuck)
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is available for patients with excess skin on their abdomen following weight loss or child birth who would like to have a flatter stomach. It can be permanent or last a long time (if weight is kept stable), except for a little natural firmness that’s lost with age.
The surgeon makes one cut along the abdomen and removes excess, sagging skin. The remaining skin is then extended down. The operation is performed under a General Anaesthetic so you will be asleep during the procedure.
Following the operation you will need to stay in hospital for between 1-4 nights.
